Yoneyama Zanshin
If there could be an ideal tool for stroking the meridians, this simple triangular tool would be it. Yoneyama is a unique style of shonishin in Japan, where this is the only tool that is used. In addition to stroking the meridians, it is wonderful for tapping and vibrating on points. Most Yoneyama Zanshin available on the market are copper, but our Gentle Spirit Yoneyama Zanshin is hand-forged, hammered silver.
The marking on this tool was bequeathed to our partner-silversmith from his mentor. In one small image it reflects a heart shape, leaf-like markings, and three-fold division. Three-ness is, of course, a key part of Traditional East Asian Medicinal cosmology: Heaven-Human-Earth. We see a similar concept in the old Hermetic adage: as above, so below. We might adapt that saying for this tool: as in my Heart-Mind, so in my hands.
