The composer Claude Debussy said, “Music is the space between the notes.”
And a Classical text of Chinese Medicine says, “the 12 channels travel in the spaces between the flesh, in a depth that cannot be seen…”. As a Chinese Medicine based Bodywork Practitioner I have taken to heart the reason people come to see us; the Body’s resistance to change. I promise to hold space for whatever change is needed. Life is motion and yet our lives seem so full of motion we often don’t function in the most healthy way, be it physically, emotionally, or spiritually because we don’t experience that the power of life actually comes from dwelling in stillness. While melding multiple modalities based with a gentle touch as the foundation and core of my outlook and technique, a space of stillness can be experienced together as a place to recharge, repair, and realign your relationship to change together. I did my formal schooling at the Oregon School of Massage focusing primarily on their Shiatsu curriculum. I began interest in Chinese Medicine while being treated for an accident, a bunch of years ago now, that turned into a Calling for me. The holistic approach where the body is the healer and the Practitioner is merely the catalyst or conduit for that healing struck a strong cord with me as I took responsibility for my own healing during that time. I’m a lifelong student, crazy studier, and reader. My inner fire is to learn the principles of a modality and make them my own. This, to me, allows me to be very adaptable to anyone who comes to me for support. I’ve studied and am currently studying with amazing Teachers to strengthen my skill as a Chinese Medicine Bodyworker. I’m currently working at Prema Health in SE Portland through February. I charge $35-75 an hour, cash, check, or Venmo. If you would like to schedule or ask any questions my email is tedbagley44@gmail.com Ted Bagley LMT #25819 |
